French court rejects Schumacher’s doping appeal
PARIS (AP)—The Council of State, France’s highest administrative body, rejected on Wednesday German cyclist Stefan Schumacher’s appeal of his two-year doping ban.
Schumacher tested positive for CERA, an advanced form of the blood-booster EPO, after the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) retested samples from the 2008 Tour de France.
Schumacher, who won two time trials and wore the leader’s yellow jersey at the 2008 Tour, argued that the retroactive procedure was not approved at the time of retesting.
In February, the AFLD banned Schumacher from racing in France for two years, with the International Cycling Union following with a worldwide ban until Jan. 21, 2011.
Schumacher is appealing his worldwide ban with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.
Schumacher also tested positive for CERA when samples from the 2008 Beijing Olympics were retested.

Imagine a criminal who is arrested and brought to justice based on DNA samples from a crime committed when DNA analysis wasn't yet available.
So Schumacher is saying, I knew what I was doing was wrong, but at the time, I also knew there weren't any tests that could catch me. Premeditated Stupidity.

PARIS (AP)—The Council of State, France’s highest administrative body, rejected on Wednesday circus cyclist Peter Joachim’s appeal of his life time doping ban.
Joachim tested positive for CERA, an advanced form of the blood-booster EPO, after the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) retested samples from the 2008 Tour de France.
Joachim, would have won two time trials and wore the leader’s yellow jersey at the 2008 Tour, but his training wheels broke. He argued that the retroactive procedure was not approved at the time of retesting.
In February, the AFLD banned Joachim from racing in France for two years, with the International Cycling Union following with a worldwide life time ban.
Peter Joachim is appealing his worldwide ban with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.
Joachim also tested positive for CERA when samples from the 2008 Beijing Olympics were retested.
Peter Joachim's cycling career has been in jeopardy for quite sometime now. He has failed numerous out of competition drug tests and spent two years in prison for stalking former professional road bicycle racer Greg LeMond. He was recently fired by his team for testing positive in yet another drug test.
Peter Joachim is already banned from racing in the State of Israel for being a Holocaust denier.
