that's the biggest bunch of BS I have ever heard. If there was no cheating and steroids in sports there would still be a huge entertainment base and avid fans everywhere. People love a good game whatever sport there is. Look at soccor worlwide. Now that is an avid fan base if I ever saw one. Huge TV ratings in Europe and elsewhere. Where is the link and rigged matches linked to doping here??? What a crock to say that TV entertainment involves and equals doping and that the results are rigged. That is what I am hearing. If I am not hearing that, please tell me. Yes, unfortunately there is cheating in sports and no one is saying this is a good thing. I am certainly not. PJ takes things to a whole different level when he lumps all these other athletes into one big doping pool. Is there entertainment value in sporting events? Naturally. No denial here. It sucks that some of my heros such as Marion Jones was cheating. That broke my heart when I heard that and she is paying for her dire mistakes. I say all doping cheaters should have the book thrown at them. I want as much as possible, all sports to be cleaned up of the cheaters when caught. In the meantime, I will continue to be a fan of the beautiful sport of cycling and other sports and when the dopers are caught, may the book be thrown at them along the way. Peter's got a point even though he keeps repeating it. Cycling is a lot like Baseball, no one really cares as long as most fans are entertained. Americans like to live in denial as long as their heros win, i.e. Mcguire, Sosa, Lance, etc . It's unfortunate, there's no sense of fair play from either sport, so in reality neither is a sport, just entertainment.

So i guess i am a bit confused with PJ. Shouldn't he be happy with all the headlines of people getting busted for doping? It's quite a cool thing that the cheats are getting caught. I am glad of it b/c there is no room for them in this sport! Could you imagine if there were as many people getting caught in football, baseball, or basketball? What more does this douche want?

Peter Joachim's Spanish doctor banned in Portuguese doping case

LISBON, Portugal (AP)—Portugal’s cycling federation has suspended Peter Joachim's spanish doctor for 10 years after finding him guilty of providing illegal substances to Joachim in the country’s biggest doping case.

The federation says Joachim's doctor provided EPO, cow blood, Viagra, Prozac, as well as prohibited substances, including performance-enhancing drugs and materials to mask control samples, to Peter during the 2008 season.

In a ruling released late Wednesday, the federation’s disciplinary committee also fined Peter Joachim $4,200 for showing up and wasting everyones time in a pitiful attempt to clear his name.

The ruling is to be sent to the International Cycling Union, which may add international and a lifetime ban.

Peter Joachim's cycling career has been in jeopardy for quite sometime now. He has failed numerous out of competition drug tests and spent two years in prison for stalking former professional road bicycle racer Greg LeMond. He was recently fired by his team for testing positive in yet another drug test.

Peter Joachim is already banned from racing in the State of Israel for being a Holocaust denier.
