LPGA golfer Cristie Kerr was featured on The Apprentice.
In preparing for the 2005 LPGA season, one of Cristie’s main concerns has been to steadily improve her short game. In this series of pictures, you see how Cristie has taken a very simple set-up with a small stance.
She is trying to keep her weight on her left side and feel like her upper body is over the ball. Her stroke is a downward brushing motion that gets the ball in the air enough to carry the fringe and then roll like a putt to the hole. For her chips, she tries to minimize air time and maximize roll time. Notice the white circle on the green.
When Cristie feels her technique is sound, she spends all of her energy on where she wants to land the ball. In these pictures you can see Cristie studying her landing area. If she can hit her spot, she has a great chance of holing out.
Cristie Kerr has emerged as one of the game's premier female athletes. After
an extraordinary amateur career Cristie joined the LPGA Tour, where she
quickly ascended to the upper echelon of the sport.
Cristie was fifth on the official 2004 LPGA money list, becoming only the
tenth golfer in history to earn over $1,000,000 in a season. Cristie had her
best season yet in 2004 with eleven top-ten placements including three tour
victories.
