Dutrow granted continuance on suspension appeal
LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY (TICKER) —Racing officials have granted trainer Rick Dutrow a continuance, pushing back his appeal of a drug suspension.
Dutrow was handed a 15-day suspension by Kentucky racing officials last month after a horse he trains exceeded the allowable limit for a drug that enables horses to breathe easier while exercising.
Dutrow, who was scheduled to meet with a hearing officer Tuesday, was granted a continuance by the Kentucky Racing Commission on Monday. No date of the next hearing has been set.
The next order of business for Dutrow is to get Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown ready for the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
