LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP)—Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale has ended with total receipts and the average price for the 13-day horse auction falling below figures from last year’s longer sale.

Total receipts for the auction held Nov. 10-22 were $159,727,800, down 14 percent from $185,552,300 grossed during last year’s 15-day sale. Average price of $57,477 decreased 6.5 percent from $61,462 reported in 2008.

A total of 2,779 horses sold versus 3,019 a year ago. Five horses topped the $1 million mark, compared to 19 in 2008.

The November sale was boosted by the near-record dispersal of the W.T. Young family’s Overbrook Farm. With Eaton Sales serving as agent, Overbrook sold 148 horses for $31,760,000 and an average of $214,595.

Hope he doesn't have happen to him what Ferdinand had happen.I don't trust the Japanese Buyeres.Any society of people who take a champion Horse and kill it for dog food should be banned from buying any other horse. You shouldn't be able to buy a horse just because Daddy left you tons of money. You have to be willing to give it a home also.
