Sassy Image wins Churchill Downs feature

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)—Sassy Image won the $163,200 Golden Rod Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

Ridden by Robby Albarado for trainer Dale Romans, Sassy Image ran the 1 1-16 miles on the fast main track in 1:44.51, beating Decelerator and Vivid Colors.

The victory was worth $100,172 and increased Sassy Image’s earnings to $247,689.

Sassy Image paid $4.60, $2.80 and $2.20, while Decelerator returned $4.20 and $2.80. Upperline was 7 1/4 lengths back and paid $2.80 to show.
