CAMDEN, S.C. (AP)—Mixed Up has beaten beat Red Letter Day by a neck to capture the 40th running of the $100,000 Carolina First Colonial Cup Steeplechase.

Danielle Hodsdon guided Mixed Up through the 2-mile, six-furlong course over 17 Colonial Cup fences in 5:16 3/5 on Saturday.

Tax Ruling was a length and a half back in third.

Mixed Up, a 10-year-old gelding, likely wrapped up Horse of the Year honors and an Eclipse Award for steeplechasing for Hall of Fame trainer Jonathan Sheppard.
