The capitol of the state of Pernambuco, Recife (Portuguese for ‘reef') is known for its tropical climate and splendid beaches. Recife also boasts a historic and architectural legacy that have earned it the nickname "the Brazilian Venice."

Recife's 42,583-capacity Arena Pernambuco will play host to a number of key World Cup fixtures, including Mexico's final Group Stage clash against Croatia on June 23, and the USA's final Group Stage match against Germany on June 26.
