Volkswagen XL Sport Concept: First Look

Last year, Volkswagen made quite the splash with the XL1, an attempt to build the most fuel-efficient vehicle ever, and one that turned out equal parts bizarre and intruiging. For this year's Paris Motor Show, VW has produced a XL paired with a unique engine — the 197-hp V-twin from the Ducati 1199 Superleggera, a sportbike motor with an 11,000-rpm redline. The XL Sport isn't the fastest concept — 60 mph takes 5.7 seconds — but its extreme aerodynamics allow it to hit 168 mph.
