As one of the strongest riders in the recent Milan San Remo and the winner of last week's Three Days of De Panne (Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde), Sylvain Chavanel knows he is in position to challenge for victory in Sunday's (April 7th) Paris-Roubaix. While Fabian Cancellara appears to be the rider in best form, Chavanel knows that tactics, a well-timed attack and the collective strength of his Omega Pharma-Quick Step team could see him triumph. With four-time Paris-Roubaix winner Tom Boonen out with a broken rib, Chavanel will lead his team in the 'Hell of the North'. The Frenchman is a strong attacker who rides well on his own, so an attack from Chavanel on Sunday would undoubtedly cause concern for Cancellara and others with aspirations of winning Paris-Roubaix.
