The U.S. men couldn't repeat their gold-medal performance in Beijing, falling to France in the closing moments of the 4x100 meter freestyle relay. While the first three swimmers, including Michael Phelps, gave the U.S. an early lead, anchor Ryan Lochte failed to hold onto the lead.
