Steve Van Buren (Dec. 28, 1920-Aug. 23, 2012) --
One of the greatest running backs the NFL has ever known, Van Buren retired with the career record for yards (5,860) and touchdowns (69). He is credited as being the NFL's first back to combine the speed to run away from tacklers and the power to barrel over them. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965.
