The first pick of the 1963 NBA Draft, Heyman's biggest contribution came at the college level where he helped build Duke into a national power, leading the Blue Devils to a berth in the 1963 Final Four. He was named player of the year his senior season, then was drafted No. 1 by the New York Knicks. Known for having a temper, he played nine seasons in the NBA for seven different teams.
