The hoped-for Guinness record for the number of Ferraris in a parade that the organizers of the 2016 Finali Mondiali at Daytona International Speedway fell a bit short – 155 Ferraris short, to be precise. At the Ferrari Race Day at Silverstone in 2012, Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa led a parade of 964 Ferraris, upping the world record set in Japan of 490 cars, which upped the record set at Silverstone in 2007 of 385 cars. The parade at Daytona managed 809 Ferraris, which, while not a record, is still a bunch of Ferraris.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is threatening to become the first NBA player to average a triple-double since Cincinnati Royals Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson achieved the double-figure points, assists and rebounds mark during the 1961-62 NBA season. A lot has changed in the league since then, which is why Westbrook’s current averages of 30.2 points, 11.3 assists and 10.5 rebounds would make such a feat a remarkable achievement in line with some of the greatest individual seasons in NBA history. As Westbrook takes on each new opponent while the OKC season drawls on, we’ll be updating his chances at matching the Big O’s feat.

Grading the Eagles' 32-14 loss to the Bengals: Simply put, the Eagles were humiliated by the Bengals on Sunday in a performance that was all too reminscent of how the team looked late last season when Chip Kelly was still head coach. That statement by itself doesn't speak too highly of the job Doug Pederson is doing right now. At least Pederson's offense has an excuse, though. Injuries to key skill players such as Jordan Matthews and Ryan Mathews, as well as two absences along the offensive line, are not making life any easier for Carson Wentz and company on that side of the football. What's wrong with the Eagles' defense though? This was as uninspired an effort as any the unit went through in
In a reunion that makes a ton of sense for both sides, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced Monday that they’ve reached a three-year, $48 million agreement with veteran left-hander Rich Hill. Hill proved to be an excellent addition to the Dodgers rotation last season after being acquired from the Oakland A’s at the trade deadline. Overall, Hill posted a 1.83 ERA over six regular starts for Los Angeles, and a 2.12 ERA when expanded to include his 14 starts with Oakland.
The Rangers are looking for an upgrade in the outfield. As such, the club has discussed speedy center fielder Billy Hamilton with the Reds, per MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan. Sullivan adds that the still-rebuilding Phillies might be willing to trade center fielder Odubel Herrera which would create a match with the Rangers. Herrera, soon to be 25 years old, was originally signed in the summer of 2008 as an amateur free agent by the Rangers. The Phillies selected him from the Rangers in the Rule-5 draft two winters ago. Herrera had an outstanding rookie campaign in 2015, batting .297/.344/.418 in 537 plate appearances. He was able to maintain that production in 2016, finishing with a .286/.361/.420 triple-slash
Former NBA All-Star Jayson Williams says he was “being a coward” when he tried covering up the drunken “terrible accident” in which he shot his limousine driver to death, he told Sports Illustrated's Jon Wertheim in a new 60 Minutes Sports interview. Williams, who says that night still bothers him, is currently spending time in a Florida rehab facility to try and stay sober. In 2002, Gus Christofi, Williams's driver, was invited to the NBA player's mansion after a night out. Williams provided a tour that included a look at a shotgun that Williams thought was unloaded. Of course Zlatan would score like this. Of course he would. With Maarten Stekelenburg deciding to come off his line and challenge Zlatan Ibrahimovic all the way out at the corner of the box, the super Swede poked the ball with his trademark karate kick. His touch sent the ball looping over Stekelenburg and into the net, but not without plenty of fun. The ball comes down right on the line, bounces straight up into the crossbar, and comes back down still without having crossed the line. As the ball pin-balled around, Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori realized the goal maybe could be kept out, and began to sprint his way back, but the ball slowly bounces over the line just before Funes Mori got
Russell Westbrook’s pursuit of a triple-double average has given some NBA fans the impression that the Oklahoma City Thunder are a one-man team, but the reality is very different. OKC is obviously not the same squad without Kevin Durant, but a variety of role players have contributed to put the team near the front of the Western Conference’s second pack of playoff contenders. While the efforts of these players do not grab as much attention as those of Westbrook and other stars, they matter plenty.
The Lions have historically been known to disappoint, but Frank Schwab lets us know if this version can actually be a playoff contender.
Tiger Woods shot an erratic 4-over 76 on Sunday. NEW PROVIDENCE ISLAND, Bahamas — Let’s call this what it is, before the moment cools: the single greatest performance in the history of Tiger Woods’ career. Woods’ 15th-place finish (in a 17-player field) in the Hero World Challenge was a milestone, perhaps even a triumph, since Woods was about 50-50 odds to even finish the tournament at all.

The Braves signed left-handed reliever Jacob Lindgren to a one-year deal, according to a team announcement on Sunday. Lindgren, the Yankees’ top draft pick in 2014, was nicknamed “The Strikeout Factory” after blowing through four levels of New York’s farm system in 2014. He started the 2015 season in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and was called up for his major league debut only two months into the 2015 season. The 22-year-old lasted seven innings with the club before succumbing to bone chips in his elbow, and underwent bone spur surgery in June before trying his luck again during spring training in 2016. In August, the Yankees shut Lindgren down for the remainder of the season so the lefty

Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith left the team’s Monday night meeting with the conference rival Toronto Raptors after suffering a scary left knee injury that left the veteran sharpshooter in evident agony on the court at the Air Canada Centre. Smith drove around Raptors defender DeMar DeRozan into the paint, then raised up to loft a floater over the outstretched arms of center Jonas Valanciunas. The ball softly splashed through the net for two points, but as it was doing so, Smith was landing awkwardly on the baseline, jamming his left foot into the ground in a halting step that stopped his momentum and immediately sent him to his knees on the court.
