Baseball Hall of Fame 2013 ballot breakdown

Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Kaduk and Dave Brown of Big League Stew look at the 22 worthy players from the National Baseball Hall of Fame's 2013 class and assess their chances of being elected on this ballot. The inductees will be announced Wednesday.

Mark McGwire

Very much like Bonds, McGwire combines the specter of steroids with a prickly personality that makes it easier to vote against him. That’s not how it’s supposed to work, just reality. He's not a one-dimensional player as many will say. He hit for power and he got on base more than most guys. Though he isn't as good as Jeff Bagwell, McGwire is among the top 20 first basemen of all time. Can’t say that it bothers me he won’t make it ... more
