Please refresh the page.I also think Mirai is the next Olympian Champion, but Joannie was just better this time. Her SP was better than Mirai's. In FS, Mirai outscored Joannie in Technical Elements and that's why you guys are thinking she was better, but her Program Components were worse. PCs are reminiscients of old figures and includes things as skating skills, transitions, coreograph, performance, interpretation; Joannie had superior PCs, especially skating skills and interpretation. Mirai has difficult acquiring speed without stroking and her Carmen had nothing to do with the opera. But I don't understand why her coreo and performance was lower... Realise Mirai has work to do and that's cool, when she fix her issues, we will see someone breathtaking. Go Mirai! I am your greatest fan! You are the only skater with an "it" factor!
I am an admirer of this extraordinary angel name MIRAI Nagasu. she is perfect.
Mirai Nagasu makes all the difference, the brightness of the giant mirai
Keep it up Mirai !! Great olympics, tough Worlds, I hope to see you win it all in 2014. That would be beautiful XD
I loved watching you perform on the ice. You did a very excellent job and got a huge amount of favor from both me and the audience. I have always been rooting for you and I felt that you should have got the gold medal.
hold your head high Mirai you are the future of this sport. that bronze was your's
Fast skater, pretty skater, did a triple and lutz combos....4th place....I'm glad to know that Kristi Yamaguchi would have won nothing in 1992 if she skated like fellow Japanese American Mirai Nagasu....I'm glad missing 2 of your 4 tech jumps, but your mom passed away gets you a token bronze to keep the Asian girls from sweeping the podium.
Why has Yahoo repeatedly confused Mirai with Asada? Asada appears in the photo gallery and in a video but is labeled as Mirai. This is downright careless and ignorant.
Since the games are over it is time to leave also. But I just hope Mirai and whoever she has around her reads some of this before I delete this web site from my computer.
Kim Yu Na is a gift to Korea and to the world... Mirai, you are our gift. I saw how you handled the pressure, I saw how you did not allow none of these big names intimidate you, I saw how you performed and you are the only 4th place everyone is talking about because and just mark my words... you are our gift. But as everything else, this gift you have needs to be perfected, so work hard, because in 4 years we Americans are going to expect the same thing from you that Korea expected from Kim Yu Na. You are amazing, so work hard to perfect that amazing gift that life gave you.And remember the American way....we don't get intimidated with anyone no matter how good they are and we might lose once, but then we work hard and the next time we get all the gold medals. And see you in 4 years...in 4 years the gold medal will be American.
i think rather than sorry for Mirai, i would feel sorry more for all the other girls down the bottom of the list; they would probably more confused than anybody( wondering why joanne could be up there amount the elite with skills that evenly matching them). of course we all know the answer
Rochette's medal can be summed up in two words : How Convenient.
I am so glad that Happy Mom had the guts to express her feelings about the "political correctness" of the NBC figure skating commentators. I totally agree. Love Scott Hamilton, but I am so disappointed in his lukewarm comments about our women skaters. Both Mirai and Rachael could not have done any better. They gave it their all and yet were not defended by our own commentator. Understandably, Sandra Besic is Canadian, but it took the other male commentator to come out and say that Rachael was underscored, then Besic agreed, but Scott did not defend either performance. I hope the girls know that Americans were proud of their performances!!
I think you should deserve the bronze not Joannie Rochette ..
can't wait to celebrate your comeback!!!!! see you!!!!
This young lady is going to be the biggest threat in 4 years, watch out everyone, she has the whole package, including Kim Yu Na!
wow aws excellent performance!! iloveyoumore marai.
robbed of a medal poor mirai .she should of got a medal NOT JOANNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mirai did a triple in her excellent performance and didn't win a medal.
Obviously the judging is biased.
i think that is b/c the new system of judging that make it almost impossible for rookies to win.unlike the past, where tara got gold coming in new, there is cartain requirements needed, i am not sure if experiences have to do with anything. mirai ability is certainly better than tara.joannie got the nation behind her and maybe the judges wanted to send a messege that is not easy for rookies to win under their new rules
Mirai is the most graceful and captivating performer of the Olympics. The judges were totally bias upon fame and sympathy. You deserve much better scores! Nevertheless, we are so proud to have you represent our country. You are not only our Gold but Platinum Medal! The future is all YOURS! The very best to your family.
mirai gave the world a great performance and a bright "mirai" (future) is awaiting for her. she becomes the american sweetheart overnight. who cares the stupid judges stole her medal away anymore? she lost the medal but she won the hearts. mirai will be back in 2014 to take the crown, in the mean time, we will see mirai take golds at world championships. i love you, mirai!!!!
