Evan Lysacek

I´m brazilian girl , but i´m proud of you EVAN , because you is brilhant, gorgeous, talent. I saw pictures of your family . you have a amazing parents, congratulations.

For every person who is saying that Lysacek shouldn't have won because he didn't attempt more difficult jumps, I do NOT hear anyone saying that Kim Yu-Na should not have won. She did not do as difficult of jumps as Mao Asada - who did three triple axels during the competition (short and long).

You are all idiots. Figure skating is an amalgamation of skills - jumping, form, beauty, etc. If not, they'd just have the people skate out and JUST DO JUMPS.

The judges decided. It was quite reasonable given the programs; people's opinions can vary a bit - but sheesh, why is there such a big freaking emphasis on the quad??? Yet no one is doing that for the women's competition.

It's figure skating, not figure jumping.

Stop giving the whining annoying "platinum" medal winner who has the worst sportsmanship I have ever freaking seen (walking up to the gold medal podium during the awards ceremony is SO disrespectful) any ammunition.

I'd bump him down another medal just for his bad behavior - he's so arrogant. Clearly a number of judges thought Lysacek's programs (in both of their entirety) were better. If he wants a nonsubjective sport, go do ski-jumping or hockey.

Shame on you, people, for dissing the guy like that. I'm not sure if you know anything about figure skating at all, because if you did, you wouldn't talk like that. Both Plushenko and Lysacek are good skaters, but for me, your opinion is based only on your so called patriotism. It is not the Cold War anymore, don't you think it's time to move on and be more open-minded?

As to my opinion - I think that Lysacek wasn't ready for this medal, not yet. He IS good, one of the best right now for sure, but he hasn't lived up to his true potential yet. Because he can do so much better, and I am 100% sure that he will someday.

To those who might get offended: grow up. Being biased speaks no good of your character.

To those saying Lysacek did not deserve gold, I want to point out a few things.... He did not do a quad because he recently suffered a fractured foot. Doing a jump like that could seriously injure his foot further. I believe he deserved it because if you actually WATCHED him skate, you would see how fluid his movements were. The men's skaters are constantly criticized because they are jerky and graceless. Lysacek looked like he was floating above the ice. I believe he deserved it because he was breathtaking on the ice. Yes, Pleshenko is a phenomenal skater, but his glory days are gone. He may have landed a quad, but his performance (to me) was nowhere near as beautiful as Lysacek's.

Plushenko is not only a poor sport but he is just a big cry baby. Shame on you Plushenko. Words cannot tell how you have discgraced your own country.

You're a bad boy, you are certainly not a man.

Plushenko is a whiney little @#$%. Sure, he landed a quad, but he had no jumps at the end of his program and pretty much everything but the quad was sloppy. Evan had the passion and the heart and his program was loaded from beginning to end. He deserved it. An it still bugs me that people think they have some sort of superior knowledge of the subject over the judges who are professionals in judging these kinds of events.

plushcnenko is a @#$%.

No matter what Zhenya took second place, it is important that Plushenko's skating technique is to much higher than Lysacek and it is a fact. I just want to say that if Lysacek is a clever man, he must understand that this medal was not his. And I think he understands it deep in his soul.
By the way, there is much dispute about the relationship between the Russian and American, and I think this is stupid. How can you judge a nation without knowing it is almost nothing except a standard template - vodka, caviar and a bear?

Spectacular. Honestly phenom- could not be prouder!

The sport is called figure skating, not figure jumping which is what Plushenko has accomplished in the past, but not this time. His jumps were not at the same caliber as before. Evan's jumps were much cleaner and his skating ability is phenominal. Evan's program definitely surpassed Plushenko's. You deserve it Evan, Congratulations!

Fantastic Job Evan! You truly diserved to win the gold and god bless you! Why do Russian's Migrate in America if they hate America so much? I'm Glad someone new won this year I'm sick and tired of the Russian guy winning every year. Valdamir putin is a teorist so I have no respect for him.

I have watched Evan Lysacek's interviews since he won the gold. With Bob Costas and last evening with Larry King. And what a gentleman he is. Never saying a bad word about the way that Pleshinko acted during the awards ceremony. The United States can not ask for a better representative. Evan....Stay the way you are.

You know Vicki ....I've been many times to Germany, France, Italy, Spain,Denmark, Sweden and others....... and funny thing I have never experienced hatred to Russia or Russian people or me personally from other nations like here in US... not a single time.
It looks like we Russian pigs have to bless US for everything we have and will and all of us in need to get a life........ I just wanna remind you US wouldn't be even 30% of it's power today without Russian educated immigrants that made here in late 19 early 20th century. Just to name a few: Igor Sikorsky, Steven Spielberg , Larry King, Oscar Mayer (OSCAR Nominations),Vladimir Horowitz and many many others..................

To Vicki .I guess your family did not fought good or maybe long enough to keep things on an equal level for everyone. It' not equal even this days

American's hate other nations including European regardless of color. You know better
