Ohno is a cheater and a sore loser and any American who saw him in this Olympics still says otherwise is just reinforcing the world view that Americans are arogant. Ohno deserved to be disqualified. He cheated right on video for the whole world to see and Canada skated a clean race and won despite Ohno pushing down one skater and grasping to pull down the gold medalist. Canada not only kick US @#$% but we did it DESPITE YOUR CHEATING. Thats how good we are. Deal with it.
Ohno has inspired people to do what they probably wouldn't have done. Celski would've probably stayed with in-line skating races and not be here to win Olympic medals, or help the U.S. win Olympic medals to boast about. What I saw during the 500m finals was a wobbly Tremblay and a questionable touch on Ohno's part. We're entitled to our opinions but I'm a speed skater and I know it can be a little worrisome to have someone right on top of you like that. I truly feel like he was just keeping Tremblay from knocking him over, snagging his blade, etc.
Anyway, pointless bickering.
(Je t'aime, Apolo.)
I have been a huge supporter and fan of this young American .., who so richly deserves every metal he has won. I recall that when Apolo Ohno was pushed in the metal rounds by a Canadian, it sent him flying into last place. For the most part.., he should have/could have fallen and been out of this race. No one complained about this fact and he STILL managed to make an extremely difficult move on the outside to finish with the Bronze Metal. The following evening, he gently nudged a Canadian skater and was disqualified??!! What is wrong with this picture? I DO NOT care if you are the HOST Nation or not! This doesn't give the Canadian Judges the license to retaliate. He was nudged by a Canadian skater the night before and almost did not metal due to this..., yet, the following evening he is "DQ'd" for the nudging a skater. This is a reality of the short-track speed skating and I Mr. Ohno WOULD have come in second or even claimed the Gold had he not been disqualified! The "IOC" should re-evaluate their standards of fair, non-biased judging! Apolo.., those who have nothing good to say are simply jealous of your extreme talent, endurance and attitude. You deserved to show some attitude for that "DQ"..., I could not believe it! Congratulations on your accomplishments over the years..,
Apolo did not deserve to be disqualified, he did not push he only put his hand on the other skaters hip to keep his space, there was way too much pushing from other teams.
Congrat, Apolo! You did great. I loved your performance!!!!!<3
Congratulations, Apolo! Your gracious attitude to the disqualification is so precious. It became more important than winning the gold.
Hopefully he skates in 2014 Winter Olympics
Go Apolo! Go US Olympic teams!
Apolois the best short speed skater in the US at this time. All the best to you Apolo in the future endeavors! You have done excellent for yourself and you are a great ambassador for the US.
Oh NO! The chinese gave him that last bronze metal when he slipped on the final turn! Hopes he has the courtesy to thank him after...but then again...he's American and he will gloat just like the 5 and 0 record for Team USA' Hockey team!
Way to go Apolo. You were the highlight of the olympics for me.
I truly don't care about what other say. I have been watching Apolo skate since 2002 Winter Olympics and in my eyes he will be and will always be a great skater and a great person. You will be miss...it will not be the same without him. Wish you the best. Thank you for being you.
