Evgeni Plushenko

Just to put the record straight here, I appreciate everyone has their own opionions about plushenko, but from meeting him in person twice this year, I can tell you not only is he a really nice and respectful person, who appreciates very much his true fans, he also trains extremely hard to keep up to such a high standard. I saw this when I travelled 12 hours from England to Pinzolo in Italy, this year to watch him train at the summer training camps and I can tell you he is totally unbelievable to watch and has a powerful magic you can not discribe. Everyone has their own opionions but few have had the greatest pleasure of meeting him in person and getting to know what an exception person he realy is.. You can not believe the negative comments in the press about him, which I can tell you are completely untrue.

Evgeni is the best,and he has no rival!everyone knows that.I bet the ones who dare to criticize him,can`t even stand up on skates!!!!For those who insult Evgeni and his hard work:GET A LIFE!!!!!YOU ARE JEALOUS COZ YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BE LIKE HIM!Do you guys have the notion of the hard work ice skating is?!I bet you don`t!You have a lot of talk as if you are all perfect!I would love to see you guys on the ice...I dare you!!!!

Plushenko is the best

Sorry, but he is by far the most childish spoiled sport I've ever seen in the Olympics yet. To have awarded himself a Platinum Medal stating others may have won Gold but he won platinum in Vancouver. Who does he think he is? He was clearing judge by his piers and past champions of the Olympics, past trainers and World Champions. They had a chance to replay his performance and pick it apart just like everyone else. He did not skate a Gold Medal performance just because he landed a quad which is only worth .30 pts more then the triple. His technique was horrid in spins and his foot work was nothing compared to others and he was slow and behind in his skating and looked spent at the end of his performance. He did not look pleased with himself at the end either; he knew in his heart he did not perform on a Gold level. God, please retire, find an ice show you pouty baby.

I thought you were amazing. I hope you see the comments who support you, rather than those who put you down. It is so easy to put someone else down.

To be honest, I was really shocked about the outcome. I believe Plushenko gave a much better performance and showed more talent. When I watch him skate, I cannot take my eyes off of him until he is finished. No other skater in men's skating captures my attention like he does and I watch in awe. Nothing against Lysacek, but I wasn't moved or impressed by his performance. In fact I was bored with it. A lot of arm waving. I did not see anything spectacular that would deserve gold. I believe that to be deserving of gold is to test the limits of the sport like Shaun White can do (or perform amazing jumps in skating). I cannot believe how high he can get on that snowboard! Anyway I was VERY disappointed in the end result of who won gold.

Arrogant, pitiful an a sore loser and he proved it to the world. Is this the best you can do? Russia truly has a lot more than sports to work on if they're going to win any gold next time. Work on your SPORTSMANSHIP!

Evgeni Plushenko: you need to get over youself. You can't always win. When things do not go your way your wanting to blame someone. You come to the games thinking your team will walk away with 40 medals. I think you all set yourselves up to fall hard. They are other teams from all over wanting to win a medal as well. You can't be selfish and take want is not your's. These people worked hard to get where they are now. You need to stop blaming others because your teams did not go home with 40 medals. You Need to change your attutide in many ways Evgeni Plushenko......

I really enjoyed Plushenko. His short program didn't last long enough for me? Will he be on programs that we here in the U.S. can see this year?

Great skater, but the guy doesn't know what to do with his arms. The arrogant sword-in-the-scabbard gesture was in very poor taste.

Say whatever you want, Plushenko was the real winner (even though he did small mistakes, yes). The man skates as though he is born on the ice. Only few are capable of what he's doing out on the rink.
Besides, it is VERY stupid to diss the guy based on nothing but your so called patriotism. This is NOT the Cold War, people, grow up!
I'm not biased, I DO NOT say that Evan Lysachek is a bad skater, in fact, he is a very good one, but I think that it was NOT his time yet to win an Olympic gold.

Plushenko should've gotten gold. His program was far more entertaining~

In my book Euvgeni Plushenko was a golden performance.He is just magical and absolutely talented on the skates.

Maybe some of us need glasses.I was totally disappointed.Sure close yes but that means, no cigar.
It should have been silver/gold the other way around.

Plushenko was the BEST!!!! and the ice show at the end of the games proved it.
Lysacek can do nothing but waving his hands. He is not artistic at all!!! ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND????????? DID YOU SEE THE STADIUm AFTER PLUSHENKO???? all people stood up! The energy and passionate that shows Plushenko can be compare only with Lambiel. But Lambiel has fallen couple times.

Get a nose job and then try a quint next time--then maybe you will win--lol

they overscored the Russian to start with and made the final score closer than it should of been --thats the problem period--Russians skate was sloopy an unentertaining--would of been the worse gold medal performance ever if he won
