Athlete Profile
- After a strong showing at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, it looks like Groves could be a strong medal contender at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. She won silver medals in the 1,500 meters and team pursuit at Turin. She also finished eighth in the 3,000 at the same Games. Groves won five medals at the 2008 World Single Distance Championships and a total of 12 medals _ including four gold _ during the 2008-09 World Cup season. She is Canada’s most decorated skater in the World Single Distances Championships with 13 career medals at the event.
