Athlete Profile

  • Considered a co-favorite coming into women's skicross along with France's Ophelie David. Finished a close second to David at the Winter X Games in Aspen last month.
  • Won her first World Cup race in France on Jan. 9, beating teammate Julia Murray. David finished fourth in that race after clipping McIvor's skis near the bottom of the course
  • Finished second over the Olympic Course at Cypress Mountain in a World Cup race last year.
  • Won the 2009 World Championship in Japan despite a horrible qualifying run in which she missed a gate and had to hike back up the mountain to avoid being disqualified. Only made the top 32 because 15 other skiers had dropped out.
  • Grew up alpine skiing before getting into skicross in January 2003. Competed in her first X Games that year and won a qualifier despite dislocating her shoulder in training.
  • Has done some runway modeling in New York City.
  • Born in British Columbia.
