- "Speedy" Peterson secured a trip to Vancouver with a win at the Olympic Trials in Steamboat Springs, Colo., beating out Dylan Ferguson.
- Placed seventh at the 2006 Olympics in Turin and ninth in ’02 at Salt Lake City.
- Took first place at a World Cup event in Lake Placid, N.Y., on Jan. 18. Seven months later, he finished second in the National Championships at Utah Olympic Park.
- Signature jump is a quintuplet twisting triple back flip. Peterson is the only athlete to have successfully landed that move consistently on the World Cup.
- Started skiing at 7 years old and was focusing on aerials by 14.
