- Silvan Zurbriggen is the underrated utility man of the Switzerland team.
- He won a World Championships silver medal in slalom at 21 but did not get a World Cup win until the Kitzbuehel combined last season. That came after his left knee was seriously damaged in a Dec. 2007 downhill crash at Val Gardena.
- Now 28, the super-combined specialist is having a breakout season in slalom and heading for his first top-10 finish in the overall standings.
