Athlete Profile
- Gashennikova went 3-2-0 in the 2002 Olympics, helping lead Russia to a fifth-place finish. Included in that tournament was a 52-save performance in a 7-0 loss to powerful Canada. She split her first four starts in the 2006 Games, losing a 1-0 shootout to Germany to finish sixth. Gashennikova started five of Russia’s six games at the 2005 Worlds, where she posted a respectable 2.77 goals-against average. She was a member of Russia’s bronze medal-winning team at the 2001 World Championship.
