Athlete Profile
- Fabris enjoyed tremendous success at the 2006 Winter Games in his home country, winning gold in the 1,500 meters and the team pursuit. Fabris topped American favorites Shani Davis and Chad Hedrick in the 1,500 event. He also took home a bronze in the 5,000 _ Italy’s first ever Olympic speedskating medal. Fabris claimed a bronze in the 2009 World All-Around. In 2008, he won silver in the 5,000 meters, 10,000 and team pursuit. Fabris became Italy’s first European All-Around champion when he earned the honor one month before the 2006 Games.
