Athlete Profile
- Gottwald had a spectacular Turin Olympics, leaving Italy with two gold medals and a silver. He retired from competition in 2007, only to return this season with Vancouver as his biggest goal. The 34-year-old Gottwald has picked up right where he left off, with five World Cup podium finishes already this season _ including one win _ and could well take home another Olympic medal in Vancouver.
