Athlete Profile
- Guenther has plenty of Olympic experience, and it's not even limited to the parallel giant slalom. She made her Olympic debut in 2002 in Salt Lake City but failed to finish in the PGS. Four years later in Turin, she finished fourth in PGS and also competed in snowboardcross, finishing 14th. Though she seemed like a logical candidate to fade somewhat from the international scene given her age, Guenther has done quite the opposite. She finished second in two competitions, the parallel slalom and PGS, at the 2009 World Snowboard Championships in Gangwon, Korea. In addition, she's finished on the podium 10 times in World Cup events over the past two years, winning the overall 2008-09 crown and five times taking home the top prize. Her most recent solid finish came when she finished second in a World Cup event in Landgraaf, Netherlands, in October.
