Lolo Jones Biography

Perhaps no athlete heads into the London Games with a bigger chip on their shoulder than Jones. After running the 100-meter hurdles in 12.43 seconds in the semifinals at the Beijing Games, Jones was the favorite to win gold. It looked like a sure thing as she pulled away from the pack in the finals, but she ended up clipping the ninth hurdle, stumbled, and finished in seventh place. She'll return to the Olympics after finishing third at the U.S. trials with a time of 12.86 seconds - 0.04 ahead of fourth-place finisher Virginia Crawford. She spent the past year getting back in race shape after undergoing spinal surgery in the summer of 2011. Jones is a three-time USA indoor champion, a two-time world indoor champion and finished her collegiate career at LSU as a three-time national champion. While Jones is already recognized by many track enthusiasts, she became famous to the masses earlier this year when she revealed she was a virgin.
