Tied for tournament lead with seven goals at 2002 Salt Lake City Games, including hat trick against Finland; won gold medal at 2005 World Championship, where she had two goals and two assists in five games; led Team USA with 10 points (seven goals, three assists) at the 2004 World Championships; youngest player ever named to Team USA when she joined at age 15 in 1999.

Completed junior season at the University of Minnesota as school's career points (246) and assists (144) leader; set NCAA single-season record with 114 points in 2004-05; scored go-ahead goal with less than a minute remaining to give Minnesota the 2005 National Championship; named NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player in 2004-05; received All-America honors in all three of her collegiate seasons.
