Raney was the overall champion of the 1997 U.S. Junior Speedskating Championships and the 1999, 2002 and 2003 U.S. Allround Champion … In 1998, placed second overall at the Worle Junior Speedskating Championships … Currently holds the American record in the 3000 and 5000 meters.

Start-up
Raney began her career on ice as a figure skater until the age of 13, when she suffered a bad knee injury and had to quit jumping. Challenged to a race by a former member of the U.S. National team, Raney was hooked on speedskating from that moment on and represented the U.S. at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Personal
Raney is currently majoring in Business and German at the University of Calgary and hopes to pursue a career in sports development … Her leisure activities include cooking, socializing with friends and home renovation projects.
