Zoeggeler leads Italian 1-2 World Cup finish
IGLS, Austria (AP)—Armin Zoeggeler edged Wilfried Huber by 0.097 seconds Sunday for an Italian 1-2 finish at a men’s luge World Cup race.
Zoeggeler, who also won the season-opening race in Calgary last week, finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 37.988 seconds for his 47th career title.
Viktor Kneib of Russia was 0.103 back in third for his career best World Cup result.
Canada won the team relay after favorites Germany was disqualified for not hitting the stop button at the finish. The Canadian team of Alex Gough, Sam Edney, and Chris and Mike Moffat finished in an aggregate time of 2 minutes, 10.864 seconds.
Austria was 1.004 seconds back. Latvia finished third, trailing Canada by 1.230 seconds.
