2012 Nationals to be held in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP)—San Jose will host the 2012 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the second time the city has staged the event.
Those nationals will be held Jan. 22-29.
The other time nationals were hosted by San Jose was in 1996, when Michelle Kwan won the first of her nine championships. Local skater Rudy Galindo was the men’s champ, performing one of the most thrilling and memorable programs in U.S. skating history.
Spokane, Wash., is host for January’s nationals, which also will serve as the Olympic trials. Greensboro, N.C., will stage the 2011 event.
