Henkel leads German 1-2 in 10k pursuit
ANTERSELVA, Italy (AP)—Andrea Henkel has led a 1-2 German finish in a women’s 10-kilometer World Cup biathlon pursuit race.
Henkel finished in 30 minutes, 59.8 seconds on Sunday, missing one shot in the final race of the five day meet in Anterselva, Italy. Magdalena Neuner was second in 31.23.1 after four misses.
Henkel moved to second from fifth in the World Cup standings with 465 points. Sweden’s Helena Jonsson leads with 536.
Daniel Mesotitsch of Austria won the men’s 12.5K pursuit in 31:50.4 with one miss. Germany’s Arnd Peiffer was second in 31.52.1, with one miss.
U.S. biathlete Tim Burke did not compete and dropped to fifth in the World Cup standings with 393 points. Simon Fourcade of France leads with 429 points after placing eighth.
