Kate Walsh Biography

Walsh made her field hockey debut on the international scene in 1999, has been captain for England's national team since 2003 and is the current captain of Great Britain's national team. She has 75 goals for Britain and 135 for England over her career, including a pair of Olympic appearances at the 2000 and '08 Games. A sixth-place finish in 2008 was Britain's best Olympic finish since1996. Walsh led England to a bronze medal at the 2010 World Cup and a gold at the 2010 Champions Trophy tournament. Earlier this year, the team took second at the Champions Trophy.
