Dagmara Wozniak Biography
Earning the second U.S. slot in saber behind Mariel Zagunis for the London Games, Wozniak will make her first Olympic appearance after being a replacement athlete in Beijing in 2008. With women’s saber being contested only as an individual event in London, Wozniak clinched the coveted berth by placing 12th in the Moscow Grand Prix in March. She is ranked third in the United States and 13th in the world. Wozniak is coming off a breakout 2011, during which she captured two team golds, two individual silvers and a team bronze at the senior world championships. She has been on four senior world championship teams and had a strong junior career before placing 24th in her first senior worlds appearance in 2007.
