Cassidy Krug Biography
An 11-time national champion and a former NCAA champion at Stanford, Krug has built quite a resume with the biggest void being the lack of an Olympic appearance. It won't be missing any longer, as she qualified for London in June after winning the 3m springboard competition at the U.S. Olympic trials with a total score of 1094.85. It was the third attempt at qualifying for the Olympics for Krug, who placed eighth at both the 2008 and 2004 trials. She enters London on the biggest hot streak of her career, having won the 3m springboard at five consecutive national meets. Her best international performance was a silver medal-winning effort at the 2011 Pan American Games. While at Stanford, Krug won the national title in both the 1m and 3m individual springboard events in 2007. Both of the Pennsylvania native's parents are diving coaches, and she is a lifelong diver herself.
