Mariana Pajon Biography
Pajon began racing BMX at the age of four, and won her first junior world championship just five years later. She would spend nine years on the junior level before moving up and continuing her domination. Her talent was evident, and, in 2008, she was invited to the Beijing Olympic Youth Camp in preparation for the next Games. Pajon was named Colombia's Junior Sports Woman of the Year in 2007 and '08. She took gold in the 2010 and '11 world championships as well as the Pan American Games those years. Currently ranked No. 1 in the world, Pajon was the 2012 North American BMX champion. In total, she has won 14 world titles, two national championships and nine Pan Am titles.
