Athlete Profile

  • Won gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle at the 2007 World Championships.
  • Finished 2007 ranked first in the 400-meter freestyle and is considered the early favorite to win gold in the event in Beijing.
  • Also won bronze in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2007 World Championships and hopes to contend in Beijing in the 1500-meter freestyle as well.
  • Won seven medals, including three golds, at the 2006 Asian Games and was named athlete of the meet.
