Devon Alexander hits a punching bag as he works out at the Marquette Recreation Center Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in St. Louis. Alexander, a north St. Louis native, won the WBC welterweight title in August. He started boxing with 30 other kids when he was in grade school. Of those 30, at least eight are dead and another 10 are in prison or have spent time behind bars.
