  • Placed fourth in the 100m butterfly in the 2004 Athens Olympics and was part of Australia's gold medal-winning 4x100 medley relay team.
  • Since narrowly missing out on a medal in Athens, Schipper has added the 200m fly to her arsenal. She is the reigning world champion and current world record holder in that event.
  • She won silver in the 100m fly at the 2007 World Championships, finishing behind teammate Libby Trickett. Schipper won the 100m fly and took silver in the 200m fly at the 2005 Worlds.
  • Won gold in both the 100m and 200m fly as well as silver in the 50m fly at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Combined with Sophie Edington, Leisel Jones and Trickett to set a world record in the 4x100 medley relay, collecting her third gold medal of the event.
  • Set a world record in the women's 200m fly on the opening night of the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Victoria, Canada.
  • Schipper started swimming to improve her asthma as a child, giving her concerns about possible air quality problems in Beijing. Knowing she will have to be extra cautious at the Olympics, she has consulted with her doctor to take preventive measures.
