A staple on the power play for much of his 15-year NHL career, left wing Paul Kariya was held off of the struggling unit Saturday against the Flyers.

Kariya also was moved from one of the Blues' scoring lines onto the team's defensive-stopper unit with Jay McClement and B.J. Crombeen.

The Blues, who came into Saturday's game ranked No. 25 in the NHL on the power play, were 0-for-4 with the man advantage in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Flyers.

"We were going to use (Kariya) a lot killing penalties," Blues coach Andy Murray said. "It was a matter of not over-taxing Paul. If you check his minutes, he played a ton. And when you're playing on that stopper unit, you're playing a lot, and I always come back with the stopper unit after a power play, so I wanted Paul for that,...

Pyorala scored in the shootout to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. Pyorala's goal in the fourth round was the difference as the Flyers won their fourth consecutive game.
