Rangers coach John Tortorella insisted he was just "giving Hank rest" when he sat star goalie Henrik Lundqvist for the second straight game Saturday night in Calgary.

Lundqvist admitted to reporters Saturday that he's been bothered recently by "a minor little thing," and clearly no injury is minor when it concerns the Rangers' most important player.

"We don't play again until Thursday (against Atlanta), so this is a good time to get a break," Lundqvist said. "I'm not going to talk about what it is. It's a minor thing. This is more for the long run. It's a long year and I want to try to stay fresh."

According to the New York Post, Lundqvist is believed to be nursing a lower-body injury, possibly a sore groin.

Dawes assisted on all three Calgary goals and Miikka Kiprusoff had 32 saves as the Flames beat the New York Rangers 3-1 Saturday night for their third win in a row.
