The Kings have had a rough stretch of injuries, particularly at a time when they might need healthy bodies more than at any point this season.

The Kings are in the middle of a stretch in which they play 13 games in 23 days, before their strangely long (eight days) holiday break, and in Saturday's 2-1 shootout victory over Chicago, they finally managed to get through a game healthy.

Jarret Stoll returned to the lineup after missing two games with a strained groin. Stoll got hurt on Nov. 21, seven days after Rob Scuderi suffered a lower-body injury, five days after Ryan Smyth suffered an upper-body injury and four days before Andrei Loktionov suffered a dislocated shoulder in his NHL debut.

Scuderi is expected to be back Tuesday when the Kings travel to play...

All season long, the Los Angeles Kings have been making the kind of strides that befit a team with playoff aspirations. A solid defensive effort against the high-scoring Chicago Blackhawks was another significant step. Anze Kopitar and Jack Johnson scored in the first two rounds of a shootout and Jonathan Quick stopped both Chicago attempts, leading the Kings to a 2-1 victory Saturday night.
