Not only has the Blue Jackets' five-game losing streak wiped out the team's good start this season, it has done so in tantalizing fashion.

A 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary on Saturday in Nationwide Arena marked the fifth straight game in which the Jackets have held a lead but still managed to lose.

This time, Columbus was up 3-1 before collapsing with six minutes left in regulation. The Blue Jackets also led vs. Nashville (2-1), the New York Rangers (2-0), Montreal (3-2) and Ottawa (1-0).

The Blue Jackets have lost four times this season when leading after two periods. It happened only three times during the 2008-09 season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets loaned promising forward Nikita Filatov to CSKA of the Kontinental Hockey League for the remainder of the 2009-10 season on Tuesday. Columbus general manager Scott Howson said Filatov would be able to further develop his game in his Moscow hometown.
