The Blackhawks have a problem at center. Jonathan Toews has missed the last six games with a concussion, and now Dave Bolland's back is acting up again.

Neither is a sure participant in the Hawks' next game, on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings at the United Center. That game starts a four-game homestand, which precedes the traditional two-week road trip in late November when a circus takes over the United Center.

Bolland has become a major concern. Last season he played through the back pain, but it flared up again in the summer and he was held out of much of training camp. He also missed one regular season game prior to sitting out Friday's 4-3 shootout loss at Colorado.

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews missed his fourth straight game because of concussion-like symptoms, sitting out Friday night against Montreal. Toews hasn't resumed skating after a crushing open-ice hit from Vancouver's Willie Mitchell on Oct. 21. Toews is listed as day-to-day.
