Marty Reasoner, Jason Williams and Ron Hainsey. Not exactly household names, are they?

So far, they're the best the Thrashers have been able to do with their off-season free agent pursuit. The team's best signing, and biggest no-brainer however, was the re-signing of starting goalie Kari Lehtonen to a new one-year contract.

Lehtonen, who will continue to be challenged by veteran backup Johan Hedberg for the starting job on a nightly basis, also didn't cost the team much. The 24-year-old Finn said he was given only a small raise over his $2.2 million salary from last season. Interestingly, Hedberg was signed to a two-year contract earlier this summer.

Reasoner, 31, is a reliable veteran center who will help fill the hole left by the departure of rugged Bobby Holik.

Free-agent center Marty Reasoner agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday after playing with Edmonton for six seasons. The 31-year-old Reasoner had 11 goals and 14 assists with the Oilers last season. He also has played with Boston and St. Louis during his nine-year career. The Thrashers also re-signed restricted free agent forward Brett Sterling to a multiyear contract.

The Atlanta Thrashers have agreed to terms with goaltender Kari Lehtonen, who was an restricted free agent. Terms of the deal were not announced Wednesday. The 24-year-old Lehtonen matched his career high with four shutouts and posted a 17-22-5 record last season. He had a 2.90 goals-against average and set a Thrashers record with his .916 save percentage.

The Atlanta Thrashers re-signed forward Eric Boulton, an unrestricted free agent, to a multiyear deal on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Boulton played in a career-high 74 games last season. He led the team with 127 penalty minutes and matched career highs with four goals, five assists and nine points. Boulton has played seven seasons in the NHL with Buffalo and Atlanta.
