The Boston Globe is reporting that Kovalchuk's agent has told Thrashers GM Don Waddell that his client wants $100 million for 10 more years of work. The Russian winger, who was just named to his home country's Olympic team, apparently wants most of the dough to be on the front end of the deal.

You gotta wonder if he's getting negotiating advice from his fellow Russian, Alex Ovechkin(notes), who got the Washington Capitals to fork over $124 million over 13 years.
