Meet the new, opportunistic Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars also were surprisingly incapable of mounting any kind of consistent attack on San Jose Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov. They finished with 18 shots on goal. And that included overtime. And they still won wrote Dallas Morning News columnist Tim Cowlishaw.

Meet the new opportunistic Dallas Stars, who steal wins even when they may not fully deserve them. Brenden Morrow's second goal of the night just 4:39 into sudden death gave Dallas a 3-2 victory at HP Pavilion in Game 1.

"It's exciting to see him lead this team," goaltender Marty Turco said. "I've had a center seat for his career."

UMMMMM, Brendon is not single. He's married to Guy Carbonneau's daughter, Ann Marie.

"Steal wins even when they may not fully deserve them" I haven't seen anything cotroversial as-far-as goal scoring is concerned with the Stars. Stick hits puck, puck finds the back of the net and no hand pass nor kick in was involved: lQQks clean to me. Every goal is an opportunity. No one should take away from what any team has accomplished. The Stars are looking pretty solid and are finally producing in the post season. Turco- Stay Solid, Morrow-keep pumping them in and everyone else, as OU coach Bob Stoops would say, "If it ain't broke, you're not looking hard enough" Keep it up Stars and find ways to produce.

if Dallas can make it into the conference finals, as well as the deadwings(Redwings), I think Dallas will win in 6. confidence goes a long way in this game and right now the stars are the most confident team in the playoffs. Down with Detroit. GO DALLAS STARS!!!!!!!!! LOCK IT DOWN BABY!!!!!

Dallas fans, I'm sorry but you did steal a win. You did not dominate the game, you did take advantage of your opportunities, or got lucky, who knows. It could have gone either way in OT, but with SJ controlling much of the puck all game it should have been theirs. Sharks made them look like rag dolls on the boards sooner or later dallas will get run into the ground. Oh and do me a favor and tell Mrs Modano to quiet down, knowing turco's wife doesn't make her a hockey analyst

Sharks hit 2 posts last night. Turco won that game for the Stars. Stars are significantly softer than the Flames and you should see the difference in game 2 on Sunday. Dallas stole the game; they played well, but make no mistake the Sharks will solve Turco.

ahhh, another opening round loss. Why do the Sharks make it so difficult... Some of the penalties called last night were suspect (on both sides)... Turco is going to be tough to beat if he keeps playing like this. I wonder if we should let Nabby get peppered with shots to keep him sharp, as the lack of shots against aren't really working in his favor. His save percentage is terrible... maybe he better look in the mirror to see if he is a man or a boy... If his save percentage was like Turco's we for sure would be heading to the Cup...

Turco is on a mission,,,,,,(only took three miserable years) and as soon as Zubov is back, there will be someone BESIDES Turco to set up the offensive plays, then we will see who has puck control. I have never seen what Turco is able to accomplish with his skill in passing. As for Dallas stealing a game, not so much, they took the punch and came out on top and that is all that matters. Hitting the post is just as bad as missing the net completely. Stars in 5.

On the scoreboard hitting posts is as bad as missing the net; however the truth of the matter is that Turco was fooled. Also, a few pucks trickled through and there were 2 quick whistles when the Sharks were in frenzy around the net. Like I said Dallas played "well," but "well" will not win them another game. Look for a Sharks power surge and a complete beat down.

With three rookie defensemen, the shark post hitters coudn't beat turco enough to win the game, good luck trying to beat the Stars when they begin to get healthy. oh and by the way wAlliam it is spelled Modano. I do find your comments so fresh and original.

Stars haven’t taken anything away. Face it Davey, the Stars did not beat the Sharks in any Facet of the game. Face offs? No! Shots? No! Hits? No! Chances? No! Fact is the Stars got some breaks and that is what it takes to win; however you Star fans act like the Stars played that well. I watched the whole game Daveyboy. You know what else I watched? Game 82, when Joe Thornton beat Ott's face in, when Shelly destroyed Ott and when Ott turtled up like a Modano when Clowe came after him several times. Modano, Ott and Ribeiro perfectly exemplify the Stars. Soft, weak players that cry.

Seems to me that you are talking about two games that the San Jose Stars won in YOUR building. Who cares about shots, faceoffs or fights, You dont win a cup by looking at stats, you win with clutch players. The fact that the Stars can steal a game while having "soft & weak" players speaks volumes more about the Sharks being choke artists than the Stars playing one incomplete game.
