NHL - Scoop Du Jour

Peter Forsberg(notes) hasn't played in the NHL since the 2007-2008 season but he looks like he might be on his way back, according to the Fourth Period.

He played in his second game for Modo of the Swedish Elite League the other day and scored a game-winning, overtime goal and got into some fisticuffs with another former NHL player, Magnus Ragnarsson.

Forsberg's got another game with Modo today but if he plays for them past Oct. 1, he can't come do his thing in the NHL this season. So he's got some decisions to make, since a slew of NHL scouts have shown up to his games and appear to be interested in getting him to sign a contract.

Forsberg has said in the past that he's interested in returning to play in North America but only for the Colorado Avalanche, but folks are thinking the 36-year-old is ready to listen to any offer from a probable Stanley Cup contender at this point.
