Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is listed as day-to-day after suffering what's believed to be a sore hip in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported it appeared Crosby was jabbed in the ribs at some point during the game.

"Honestly, I don't even know what happened; I'd have to look at the tape," Crosby told reporters after the game. "I just had some discomfort. I just decided in the third period I couldn't do much."

The 2007 Art Ross and Hart Trophy winner was held off the scoresheet and had one shot on goal through 15:56 of ice time. He left in the third period and did not return.

What happened to Crosby is unclear. Television replays showed Crosby skate to the Penguins bench, sit down with a grimace and try to collect himself.

Sid will be ok, and this injury might help the team by forcing some interesting line combinations and maybe find some chemistry for the second and third lines. Sid and Malkin can't score every point...

"Sid and Malkin can't score every goal" but in all reality it is a two man team. Go without either and you have problems whether it be slumps or injury.

You'd like to see him toughen up. Maybe like when he played the last 2 months of the season 2 years ago and won the scoring title and MVP and helped them to the playoffs with a broken bone in his foot?

#18 I think you're the only Pittsburgh fan that I can say I like. You're living in reality. Little Sidney just needs to grow up. Take the A off his chest, make him work and scrum and take a hit on the board without all the wimpering and maybe they can make a man out of him yet. I was against this at first, but if it will make the game of hockey better, maybe the Pens should go after Shanahan so that he can show little Cindy how to play hockey like Men do.

    Gee...thanks :)
Don't get me wrong, he doesn't always play like that, but when he does its annoying. He's still young and he'll learn to play consistantly soon. I hope.

Bill- PLEASE!!!!!! Jason Smith had not one, but TWO seperated shoulders. I mean toughen his demeanor. Stop diving, stand up for himself, not turtle or hide behind some other player... things like that.
I appreciate your point but I think with as much skill as Sid has (it's undeniable) he could do so much more for himself and for hockey if he stopped playing like such a little b-tch.
I look at him and I look at Ovechkin and I'd take OV any day over a sissy like Sid. That's all, just a respectful disagreement.
